About Marcos Favela

Marcos Favela is an immigration attorney who has exclusively practiced immigration law
for over a decade. Marcos has focused on providing deportation defense representation
in immigration courts throughout Arizona and California for hundreds of clients, as well
as successful representation in immigration appeals at the Board of Immigration
Appeals and the 9 th Circuit Court of Appeals. Marcos has helped non-citizens
successfully apply for immigration benefits with USCIS as well as helping people keep
their legal permanent resident status, and helping undocumented immigrants obtain
legal permanent residence status in the United States through adjustment of status,
cancellation of removal, as well as asylum and other forms of humanitarian relief like
VAWA and U-visas.
Marcos received his law degree from Santa Clara University in 2015 and has been
admitted to the State Bar of California since 2015. While in law school, Marcos was
selected as a Justice John Paul Stevens Fellow, based on his commitment to public
interest and social justice law. Marcos served the immigrant community of Berkeley,
California and the surrounding areas during the summer of 2014 at the East Bay
Community Law Center, and also interned at the Northern California Innocence Project,
a program dedicated to exonerating the wrongfully convicted.
Prior to law school, Marcos graduated from Arizona State University, Tempe after being
invited to ASU as a National Hispanic Scholar and offered a full-ride scholarship.
Marcos has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from ASU.
Marcos is fluent in Spanish. His father is from Durango, Mexico and his mother’s family
is from Jalisco, Mexico. Marcos was raised in North San Diego County, California, but
has now lived in Arizona for over 15 years. He and his wife live together in Phoenix with
their daughter and enjoy visiting gardens when possible. Marcos also enjoys hiking and
mountain biking in his spare time.
